Sunset Beach West is a proposed development for the 24.95 +/- acre tract located on the oceanfront at the west end of Sunset Beach. The preliminary plan includes 21 platted lots which are approximately 1/2 acre each. The preliminary plan shows that the proposed development will be accessed by a private wooden bridge that will be constructed, by the developer, at the West end of Main Street.

During the February 16, 2015, the Brunswick County Board of Commissioners rescinded the policy adopted on September 24, 2014 for "Utility Service Areas Regulated by the Coastal Barrier Resources Act". Please click below to view information that has been provided to the Town by Brunswick County.


The Sunset Beach West Subdivision preliminary plat was discussed during the June 4, 2015 Planning Board meeting.


During the 08/06/15 Planning Board Meeting, the Board approved the Sunset Beach West Preliminary Plat. Please click below to view the information reviewed by the Board. Staff presented an email correspondence from John Gerber, Senior Engineer, State NFIP Coordinator regarding comments on the flood study.  


 All interested parties are notified that the Commander, Fifth Coast Guard District has received an application from Cape Fear Engineering, on behalf of Sunset Beach West, LLC, for a bridge to be constructed across navigable waters of the United States. Please click below to view the notice.
